In Brazil, the last Saturday of August became the traditional "McDia Feliz". Everyone knows that the income of the "Big Mac" alone helps the Ronald Mc Donald House, present in most Brazilian states. This institution was created to humanize the treatment of kids and adolescents with cancer, and has made a difference in the lives of millions of patients.

 

On August 29, the whole population was encouraged to make a small gesture of charity, but dozens of OLM students did more than that: They went to Mc Donalds Rio Sul to share their concern with those who bought a Big Mac sandwich for the cause of cancer. It was beautiful to see a group of student-volunteers interacting with the  customers through music and dance, knowing that they were making difference. The kids had a lot of fun through face-painting and colouring. What made a big succes this year was the TREE OF SOLIDARITY where, after the purchase of the Big Mac, the customer would pick up a paper heart, write his name and paste it in the tree.

Our tree was full of generous hearts at the end of the day. How great!!

 

OLM volunteers had a lot of fun and expect to be at the mall next year again.
