The Science Fair 2016 was a blast!

This year, the theme was "A Drop of Life" and made us reflect on the importance of water conservation.

Middle school students presented 20 projects in their subject areas: Living Things (6th grade), Earth Science (7th grade) and Human Body (8th grade). Students were very successful in developing all steps of the Scientific Method and communicating their results brilliantly. Hard teamwork and commitment were the key elements! I could not be prouder of my students, who provided such a rewarding experience to our school community. Visitors interacted by resisting to freezing waters inside a "whale blubber", finding animals blended in their habitats, discussing about factors that led to the water crisis of 2014-2015 in Brazil, witnessing water erosion, desalinating ocean waters and filtrating polluted ones, preparing homemade mosquito traps to prevent Aedes aegypti fevers, being "infected" by an "epidemics", testing their lung capacity and many other cool challenges.

Hard decision it is to award the winner project.

Check it out on April 28!
