The school year 2015-16 started with a holy and new beginning: The presence of the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Aparecida whose 300 years of apparition will be celebrated in 2017.

 

Throughout the many celebrations, replicas of the image of the Virgin of Aparecida will go around all parishes in Brazil. So, by 2017, the whole country will have received the holy presence of its patroness. 

One of the replicas of the original one located in "Aparecida do Norte", São Paulo, has been visiting all parishes in the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro.

 

On August 13, the OLM Parish received the visit of the pilgrim image and the OLM community gathered at the front court for an encounter with Our Lady. There is no better way to start a new school year relying on the protection of our heavenly mother.  Students, parents, teachers, lots of people praying and singing to Mary in response to her protection every time, in every way.

 

May we all rely on the protection of Mary and be thankful to her! Our Lady of Aparecida, pray for Brazil.
