EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION - TEACHER OF THE YEAR 2018

GISELE DA COSTA SOUZA - PNA

(She has been working at OLM since 1997 - 21 years of total devotion and professionalism)

As you know, the Teacher of the Year is viewed as an example of a professional by all school staff. She stands out for her many qualities, such as: she’s always applying herself and following closely the mission of a Catholic School; her professional and positive attitude are admired and recognized by not only the staff, but parents and students as well.

I would like to point out her excellent relationship with all school staff. She demonstrates respect, a team-work attitude and collaboration towards her fellow teachers.  Gisele is constantly giving the special teachers feedback on each of her students in order to help them with their daily interaction with the children.

She has strongest qualities, and I highlight her love, dedication and respect to her students, other teachers and all staff of the school.

She is able to achieve the best results in vocabulary development, allowing her students to learn and easily follow directions in and outside the classroom. She also encourages them to participate in the activities and express themselves, by creating a loving, respectable and comfortable environment.  She is one of the first ones to arrive at the school to make sure everything is organized and ready for children enter the classroom and stay until necessary, making sure every child is safety where they need to be, whether they go home with their parents - by bus -, or stay in After School Activities.

This amazing teacher is a true example of what Our Lady of Mercy School stands for and demonstrates the quality that the parents would like to find when choosing a school for their child. For the reasons mentioned above, and many others, I’m proud to present you Ms. Gisele Costa for the TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD in the Academic Year 2017-2018.
