BIG 8 - Daily Report

Fourth day:

We started by playing against ASA in men's soccer. Unfortunately, we did not withstand their initial pressure, the first half finished 4 x 0. In the second half,  we improved. However, San Kim was injured and we lost 5 x 0.

On women's soccer, the girls had to play their best against ASA and without Priscilla and Gabi. The game ended 4 x 1 for ASA. Then, there was the cheerleader presentation. At night, there was the basketball games.

On women's basketball, we played against Chapel. The game was very even. However, the referee apparently does not like our school because he always judges against us. Waldeir got mad with this, the referee expelled André (assistant coach) from the game, and the EAC (host school) sports coordinator was called. With the advantage of a friendly referee, Chapel won the game.

On the men's basketball, we played against EARJ. It was also an even game, but we won this one.

Third day:

Today we started playing at 9:30 against Graded in men's soccer. Even with much pressure from them, we managed to keep the score as OLM 0 x 1 GRA.

In the women's, the Lancers played an even game against Graded, but, in the last minute, one of their players got lucky with a shot from midfield. Priscilla and Gabi were not able to play, and maybe won't even play the next game.

On women's basketball, we lost against ASA.

On men's basketball, we started winning against ASA, finishing the 1st quarter on front. However, the difference in height between the two teams was crucial in the game, and they eventually made a comeback.

Even though they won, their coach said that this was the most difficult game they had played in the tournament.

Second day:

On the second day of Big 8 we played against EAB in soccer and Graded in basketball.

In the first half of the men's soccer, we suffered 2 goals and almost scored one. On the second half, we suffered 3 goals, one of them from penalty.

On women's soccer, we won 2 x 0 with excellent goals from Giulia and Luiza. However, Priscilla and Gabi were injured. In basketball, we didn't manage to win.

The weather was unusually hot, but it started to cool at night.

First day:

The trip here to NR2 lasted about 6h30min, including the stop at the Graal.

We arrived at 5 p.m. and headed straight to our designated chalet. After unpacking our bags, we played soccer on the girls's field, watched ASA x Graded (men's basketball), and ate some "churrasquinho".

We took a shower and then went to the opening ceremony, where we watched last year's Big 8 video.

Afterwards, our men's basketball team played against EAB. We won by a difference of more than 20 points. The girl's basketball team played next also against EAB. On normal time we tied 23 x 23, but we lost on the extra time.
