KNOWLEDGE BOWL
As most of you know, the Knowledge Bowl team returned from the their competition on Monday, April 31st.
They tied for second place but, because of a tiebreaker rule, ended up in fifth.
Today, they want to acknowledge their coach, Ms. Freire, with the following message:
"Thank you for all that you have done for us throughout the last couple of years. We couldn´t have done it without you and we´ll miss you so much!"

Knowledge Bowl is a highly stimulating academic competition in which students demonstrate their intellectual capability, not only in subjects that they learn in school, but also in other areas, such as pop culture or current events. Ms. Freire first introduced it at OLM and the school’s first team competed at EARJ in 2012.
Since then, the school has already participated in three other competitions. This year, Luiza Silva ('14), Carla Cosenza ('14), Ana Luiza Ferrer ('14), Victor Pinto ('14), and Leonardo Oliveira ('15) will represent OLM. The competition will be held at the American School of Campinas (EAC), on March 27th and 28th. The participating schools include EARJ, Graded, the American School of Recife, PASB, Chapel, PACA, ISC, NIDO, OLM, and the host school.
Due to the fact that we have already participated in this competition, we’ve had the privilege of representing our school several times and are looking forward to this new edition of Knowledge Bowl. Even though it is always nice to win, we know that the experience will be enriching and unforgettable whether we receive the gold medal or not. We are proud to represent OLM and hope to inspire the future generation of our school’s competitors to do the same.
