Dedication to Mary, dedication to All mothers!
This unique month contributes not only to a special reflection about the role of women in society, but also to a recognition of Mary, mother of God, and her special role as an intercessor for all her children on earth. Mary is the role model for all mothers; for this reason, the Church has always reminded us of her infinite protection, sweetness, and fidelity to the love of God.
Her divine motherhood is revealed to us in every creature that is born. She is referred to as " The Mother of all mothers". She is the one who reveals the face of the Incarnate God and the tenderness and love that are manifested in the light; the one who shows what God does to all of his children throughout the earthly journey to his kingdom of love and justice. She is the one who reveals the faces of all mothers, for her life in this world was like the lives of all women who care for their children. She has gone through delight, pride, worry, and suffering. She has, differently from us, kept everything in her heart, in silence, in meditation. She relies on the presence of God alone.
All mothers have a lot to learn from this blessed mother whose example shows the emptiness of oneself in search for the grace that comes from doing God's will. Some of the titles given to the Virgin Mary suggest a virtue that is needed in motherhood: Mercy, Consolation, Sorrow, Good Counsel, perpetual Help, Peace, and Confidence.
Mary, mother of God, mother of Mercy, pray for us !
