On October 11th, the night started out right with a party for the middle school students. Being a student teacher for the middle school students, I was asked to join in on the fun. The cafeteria was transformed into a neon dance floor. Black lights made the room glow, splattered paint made for an awesome design on the walls, and balloons covered the dance floor. To make the atmosphere even more electric, students were given glow sticks and face paint that made each person really pop out in the dark.

The students were really creative with the face paint and the patterns they used to accentuate their look.

The DJ played a lot of Brazilian funk music with some American songs that were familiar to the other student teachers and me. If someone was thirsty from all the dancing, there was an area where you could drink refreshments, as well as snack on some treats. If someone became tired of dancing, the students stepped outside and talked with their friends to relax. Some students began to use the balloons as volleyballs and made their own game where balloon could not touch the floor.

All in all, the party was a success. It was great to see the middle school students having fun and dressed up in clothes other than their uniforms. It was great to learn some new songs and dance moves. The party came to a close around 11:30 where everyone left with a smile on their face.
