DID YOU KNOW?

The "Inner Eye" project at its very best!

Second graders meditating during their guidance classes with Ms. Silveira. One of the ideas behind this project is to calm the mind and lighten the spirit!

"Mindfulness is a very simple form of meditation that was little known in the west until recently. A typical meditation consists of focusing your full attention on your breath as it flows in and out of your body. Focusing on each breath in this way allows you to observe your thhoughts as they arise in your mind and, little by little, to let go of struggling with them."

Professor Mark Williams, Oxford, UK

Nurturing peace within our hearts

we contribute to a kinder world!

Ms. Silveira

The ability to deal with stress needs to be taught. It needs to be experienced and also observed. Stress is endemic in our society and is causing harm.

The Inner-Eye Project is designed in order to help our students to lead a better life, growing strong from within.  It will provide students with lifelong skills that will enhance their quality of life. They will become aware of their inner resources and will also be able to access and use them whenever needed.

A tool for life, living better is our Project!

“Research has shown that the reduction of stress, the development of social/emotional skills, and a general sense of well-being have corresponding health and academic benefits” (Lynea Gillen, MS and Jim Gillen RYT).

Each class or group work session will take place every other week but the teachers will be oriented on skills to be used on an everyday basis.

Information will be sent home at least once a semester and parents´ cooperation is fundamental. We know that children develop better when they feel that their parents and teachers “speak the same language”! Having parents and teachers as role models, living the theory during their school day is an experience that will certainly enrich their lives forever!

As Albert Einstein said ‘Knowledge is experience, everything else is just information’.

We wish you all a very pleasant and peaceful academic year!
