I believe I speak for all of us when I say that our SUSMUN experience was unforgettable!

We knew it was going to be like that from the moment we set foot in the airport. The past four months had been absolute madness, with guidelines to follow, deadlines to respect, and many, many pages to write. Once our positions papers were ready, all we could think about was the trip itself. Anxiety practically consumed us. Once we got there, I must admit that the conference was not exactly what we expected it to be. For me, it was even better. Truth be told, you are never truly prepared for it until you get there! Atlanta is a beautiful city, and we were all mesmerized by it. The first two days and a half consisted of sight-seeing, and, of course, shopping. We visited many of the city’s sights, from Coca-Cola world to Emory University. We found something to admire everywhere we went. Since it was late October, we were also lucky enough to participate a little in Halloween festivities, enjoying all the traditional decorations and laughing at the silly costumes we saw displayed in stores.

Although Atlanta was amazing and I think everyone would agree that we could have toured it all week, we were all anxious for the opening of the conference. Once it started, we never stopped. We spent three days feeling an absolute rush. Committee sessions would start early in the morning, and, on most days, would only end very late at night, briefly stopping for lunch and dinner. The adrenaline you feel when putting up your plaque and getting called to speak for the first time is absolutely indescribable.  For the first second, you even regret it, but after you start speaking, you never want your 30 seconds to end. One of the best parts was voting for the final versions of our draft resolutions and partnering up with other delegates.

Not only did we learn a lot during the conference, but we also made many friends. Once again, I have no doubt when saying that we won’t ever forget this experience!
