Maria: Hello, um we're from OLMatters and today we are interviewing the people from MathCounts of the OLM school.

Maria Clara: We are here with: Enzo from sixth grade, Rosario from seventh grade, Teo, Juliana, Mateus and Nicole from eighth grade. Nicole is not here because she is sick.

Maria: Rosario, what is MathCounts?

Rosario: It is a math competition against all the american schools in Brazil and we get together to compete.

Maria Clara: Enzo, how did the group prepare for the competition?

Enzo: Every Tuesday we had extra math class in which we learned things we wouldn't normally learn in normal classes.

Maria: Enzo, where was the competition held?

Enzo: It was in Brasilia in the School of Nations.

Maria: What was your experience.

Enzo: It was nice, because it was the first time I went ... to compete.

Maria Clara: Juliana, which schools were there?

Juliana: We were there, PACA and Graded which are from São Paulo, Nations which is from Brasilia, ISC which is from Curitiba and EAC from Campinas.

Maria: Rosario, how did you prepare yourself?

Rosario: For the test we did that extra math classes but for the test Mr. Rundle gave us a paper so we could train and for the trip we had to prepare our luggage and everything and my parents sent an e-mail to my hosts mom so to thank and everything.

Maria Clara: Juliana, was it fun?

Juliana: It was really fun because our hosts were really nice people and we got to meet new people.

Maria Clara: Did you feel a lot of pressure?

Juliana: I didn't feel a lot of pressure because I've participated in the competition twice before, but I did feel a little nervous because it's a test and I always get nervous.

Maria: Mateus, what did you learn?

Mateus: We learned how to do really big math problems really quickly, and we also learned new stuff, other math problems that we wouldn't learn in normal classes.

Maria Clara: Juliana, in what position did you stay?

Juliana: On the individual category we weren't able to get to the top ten, but on the group category, me, Teo, Cosenza and Nicole, we were able to get third place.

Maria: Teo, would you do it again?

Teo: Yes I would do it again of course but now I am an eighth grader and I can't do it again.

Maria: Could you give a message to the future people?

Teo: It is a really nice experience and I would say good luck to them.

Maria and Maria Clara: Thank you for participating.
