Summer at UMich!

Victor Pecsen Pérez (´16)

This past July, I spent two weeks at The University of Michigan for a Summer Discovery Program. The experience was great! It was one of my favorite trips ever. During the two weeks, I met people from all around the world.  The cultural differences between us were practically none. The way people there were so open minded really impressed me. At first, it was hard to adapt, especially because I had spent my entire life up to that point as a student at OLM. The first two days it seemed as if I was going to a new school. However, after I became friends with my roommate and a boy from São Paulo who studies at Chapel (one of the schools OLM plays against in The Big 8), time began to pass by so fast I only noticed on the second to last day.

For anyone who is seeking a college life experience, a summer program is the perfect one.  You get to know how to manage your time, where and when your classes will be, which is a big deal considering the size of the campus. I am personally in love with UMich, and I recommend that anyone who has the opportunity to attend one of these summer programs do so.
